Police nab three in MP youth's murder case

NAGPUR: Three persons were arrested by MIDC police for their involvement in the murder of a man, in his twenties, last week. Vinod Inwate was leaving for his village in Seoni in Madhya Pradesh along with his friend Suresh Bopche when the duo was kidnapped. Bopche managed to flee but Inwate was stoned to death.Crime branch's cyber cell made a crucial contribution and MIDC police did the fieldwork to detect the murder.Verifying the communication details - the last call made from Inwate's mobile - helped MIDC Police zero down upon the assailants.Nilesh Naidu, Dinesh Pardhi and Keteshwar Hedao alias Sanjay have been arrested. Police said that Naidu has almost half-a-dozen cases against him. Pardhi's father Surichand is already serving a jail term for murder since early 90s. Naidu's call turned out to be his nemesis. Naidu had narrated his friend about the murder with Inwate's cell as his phone did not have talk-time left in it.It was later learnt that the assailants could manage to rob Rs 350 from Bopche and the cell phone of Inwate. The offenders had a feast at Mominpura before heading for rest. The assailants had also come to the spot where they killed and left Inwate's body at Jaitala on the following day morning to gauge the movement of police. They consumed liquor at a safe distance watching the cops investigating the case. The assailants had also scanned the newspapers on the following day to see whether police could get any clue.Police was initially suspecting the involvement of Bopche who had informed Inwate's relatives on the following day about the robbers looting them on the previous night. Police inspector Sampat Chavan of MIDC said that the investigation team was roaming in different places attired in civil hiring a private car."We questioned scores of people and laid traps accordingly,'' inspector Sampat Chavan said. The team comprising head constable Santosh Tayyade, Pravin Aware, Prashant Ninawe, Ramesh Kanere and Manoj Nagmote also questioned several autorickshaw drivers to get hold of the culprits.Police had picked up Naidu's friend first with the help of his girlfriend. He revealed the whereabouts of Naidu. Police later picked up his associates.Police said that Bopche and Inwate had consumed liquor at a country bar near Panchasheel talkies chowk. Naidu, Pardhi and Hedao wanted Inwate and Bopche to come with them in the autorickshaw. The duo abused them which triggered the fight. Police said that the assailants were heavily drunk and desperate for money. They forcibly dragged the duo into the autorickshaw and started driving it fast. They were also thrashed simultaneously.Bopche apparently jumped out of the autorickshaw with Hedao following him. Nilesh and Dinesh started assaulting Inwate who fell down on the ground. One of the assailants brought a heavy piece of concrete and smashed it on Inwate's head. Bopche was luckier as Hedao, who was following him, had rod implant in his right leg and could not keep pace with him.
